Fort William: BritRail station

Off to catch the train that was leaving about 08.23. Was leaving plenty of time given condition of my suitcase! Fortunately, a couple that stayed at the B&B looked out for me and made sure I made it to the station.

The present Fort William station opened by British Rail on 13 June 1975. The current station lies in the shadow of Ben Nevis. The present station buildings are a 1970s grey concrete construction. The station is on the West Highland Line and the starting point for The Jacobite a steam locomotive hauled passenger service to Mallaig . 82060417
