Lady Anne Clifford (1590-1676) The strength of character which spurred Lady Anne Clifford to fight for her lost inheritance and spend 26 years restoring her castles to their former glory is legendary.

She grew up in and around the royal court, where she was said to have been "much beloved" by Queen Elizabeth l. Her father did not bequeath the family estate to her, but she eventually regained her inheritance. 82060618
